Laying in a distinguished location on the shores of Aqaba Gulf in the Eastern section of the Sinai Peninsula, the city of Nuweiba has turned in the last few years into a marvelous resort for tourists who enjoy the wonderful beaches of the city and its relaxing atmosphere.
The city is famous for being called the jewel of the Gulf as Nuweiba has wonderful golden beaches surrounded by many palm trees; giving the city special magic of its own. Away from being a worldwide popular vacation spot, Nuweiba has flourishing and growing commercial activities. Thanks to the Nuweiba international port which welcomes ships coming from different location all over the Red Sea.
Moreover, there is also the hydrofoil services from Nuweiba to Aqaba, the well-known Jordanian city, and port which can be reached in less than an hour offering visitors to Nuweiba a wonderful chance to go explore Petra, the astonishing historical city established by the Nabateans.
The city of Nuweiba is mainly divided into two sections. The first is located in the Northern section of the city and it is called the Muzeina in reference to the name of the tribe that resides in this section of the city.
The second part is the Tarabin section which is named as well after the tribe which inhabits the area. This area also hosts the famous fortress constructed by Sultan El Ghoury, the Mamluk leader of Egypt during the 16th century.
