Itinerary

Day 01: Pyramid Mountain, English Mountain, Ancient Village and Ethnic Museum

Meet at the pickup point of your choice in Cairo for an adventurous and scenic drive to Bahariya, the smallest of the four oases in the Western Desert. Upon your arrival, you will have lunch at the hotel then explore Bahariya’s history, culture and amazing landscape with a visit to Pyramid Mountain so named because it is shaped like a pyramid. Climb to the top for a panoramic view of the oasis and the desert landscape. Walk or drive to the top of English Mountain and view the ruins of the abandoned World War I fortress used by the British soldiers during the war and experience a picturesque sunset. Stop by the Ancient Village and the Ethnic Museum to see how the original settlers of the oasis lived. Return to the hotel for dinner and relaxation here you will spend the night.

Day 02: Back Desert, Roman Springs, Agabat, El Ghanour, Old White Desert and Tent Valley

Wake up to a delicious breakfast at the hotel then go on a breathtaking drive to the incredible Black Desert just outside Baharia, hop into a wheel drive for a memorable adventure. Explore the rough terrain of volcanic hills covered in black basalt that give the desert its name. Discover the Roman Springs and Agabat a small valley where the yellow sands of the Sahara Desert meet the white cliffs of the White Desert to create beautiful rock formations. Enjoy lunch in the desert then continue the adventure at El Ghanour, the Old White Desert, and Tent Valley so named because of the number of half round chalk ball rock formations that resemble a campsite across the desert valley. Experience dinner under a blanket of stars where you will spend the night.

Day 03: Flower Desert, Frigate Valley and Obeiyed Cave

Enjoy a hearty campsite breakfast and continue touring the 700,000 sq. km of the Western Desert considered being the driest area in the Sahara. Explore miles of golden sand dunes, strange and unique rock formations, canyons, valleys and beautiful oases. Tour the Flower Desert and be amazed by the rock formations look like actual flowers, rest under a mushroom to escape the hot desert sun. Explore Frigate Valley and later make the climb into Obeiyed Cave and see prehistoric rock art on the walls of the cave, learn about the people, their culture, and history. Then return to the Campsite where you will experience another magical evening under the brilliant desert sky.

Day 04: New White Desert, Hawaas Springs, Bir Serw and Crystal Mountain

Wake up to another wonderful campsite breakfast and prepare for another day of exploration and adventure into the New White Desert. A must see on any desert safari the White Desert boasts a chalk white landscape and rock formations that are brilliantly spectacular. Then explore more of Baharia at Hawaas Springs and Bir Serw for an unforgettable experience that will last a life time. Enjoy a delicious lunch then visit Crystal Mountain, a unique mountain ridge that is covered by natural forming quartz crystals under the desert sun. Then retire to the hotel for the remainder of the night.

Day 05: Valley of the Golden Mummies, Zed Amun ef Ankh, Bannentiu, Ain Muftella and Temple of Alexander the Great

Wake up to a delicious breakfast before embarking on an amazing Antiquities Tour visit the Valley of the Golden Mummies which has given notoriety to Bahariya. In 1999 a large cemetery was discovered unearthing tombs with well-preserved mummies some even covered in gold; along with other beautiful artifacts, potteries, and statues. Visit the richly decorated tombs of Zed Amun ef Ankh and Bannentiu, the grand Ain Muftella Chapels and the Temple of Alexander the Great. The sandstone temple was built during Alexander’s reign of Egypt and dedicated to the gods Amun and Horus. Then return to the hotel for the last time for lunch, as you prepare for the return drive to Cairo.
