Itinerary

Day 01: Ancient Village, Ethnic Museum, Pyramid Mountain, English Mountain

Get ready for an early morning pick up in Cairo at the preferred meeting point for an adventure filled drive to Bahariya Oasis. Upon your arrival in Bahariya you will check into the hotel where you will enjoy a sumptuous lunch. Then go on a tour of Bahariya stop by the Ancient Village and the Ethnic Museum to see how the original settlers of the oasis lived. Then visit amazing places like Pyramid Mountain so named because it is shaped like a pyramid. Climb to the top for a panoramic view of the oasis and desert landscape. Walk or drive to the top of English Mountain and view the ruins of the World War I fortress used by the British soldiers during the war and watch the sunset. Day 02: The Golden Mummies, Zed Amun ef Ankh, Bannentiu, Ain Muftella Chapels, Temple of Alexander the Great, Black Desert, Crystal Mountain, Agabat, Flower Desert and the Old & New White Desert

Wake up to a delicious breakfast before embarking on an amazing Antiquities Tour visit the Valley of the Golden Mummies which has given notoriety to Bahariya. In 1999 a large cemetery was discovered unearthing tombs with well-preserved mummies some even covered in gold; along with other beautiful artifacts, potteries, and statues. Visit the richly decorated tombs of Zed Amun ef Ankh & Bannentiu, the grand Ain Muftella Chapels and the Temple of Alexander the Great. The sandstone temple was built during Alexander’s reign of Egypt and dedicated to the gods Amun and Horus. Hop on a 4 wheel drive to the amazing White Desert as the white “sand” looks like snow transforming the hot desert landscape to one that resembles the cold Arctic. You will be impressed by the neighboring Black Desert where volcanic hills have colored the desert landscape black thus giving the dessert its name. Enjoy lunch before exploring more of Bahariya. Tour the Crystal Mountain a fascinating mountain ridge that is littered by natural forming quartz crystals then go off road and explore Agabat, Flower Desert and the Old and New White Desert for an unforgettable experience. Overnight at the White Desert Camp where you will spend the remainder of the night.

Day 03: Acacia Tree and Watermelon Valley

Wake up to a campsite breakfast and refresh yourself for a scenic and awe-inspiring drive to Djara Cave, located in the Middle of the Western Desert be amazed by the beautiful desert valley, dunes, amazing rock formations, and plateaus. Enjoy lunch at Bir Serw before arriving at the intended destination. Visit the well-known landmark Acacia Tree growing out of a small hill and rest beneath the cool shade of its branches. Then drive to Watermelon Valley so named because of the many stones that are shaped like watermelons across the valley floor. Then enjoy a starlit dinner at Djara Cave where you camp for the night.

Day 04: Djara Cave

Enjoy a delicious breakfast at the campsite before exploring the Djara Cave dating back to prehistoric times the walls of the cave are decorated with engravings and drawings depicting animals and people. The limestone cave boasts splendid stalactite and stalagmite formations, many around 6 meters in length, walk with a helmet and flashlight and go back in time. Then return to Bahariya and check into the hotel where you will enjoy dinner and spend the remainder of the night.

Day 05: Final day

Enjoy breakfast at the hotel then drive back to Cairo where you will catch your return flight. If you have a late departure let us know as special arrangements can be made for you.
