About The Hotel
A dahabeah is a traditional passenger boat used on the Nile River in Egypt, characterized by its shallow bottom and sails. Originating from the Arabic word for “gold,” these boats have been used for thousands of years, initially serving as luxurious vessels for the elite. Historically, dahabiyas were the primary means for tourists to explore the Nile until the late 19th century when steamboats introduced by Thomas Cook Ltd transformed Nile travel. Today, modern dahabiyas are towed by tugboats and cater to leisurely travelers, maintaining their luxurious legacy
