This year, the festival hosted 40 distinguished directors, producers, and actors, enriching the event with interactive “Meet the Filmmaker” sessions. Highlighting its expansive reach, the festival premiered 25 films, including four world debuts, and presented an array of documentaries, shorts, and feature films. Since its inception in 2006, the festival has flourished with support from donors, grants, and sponsors.
Running concurrently, the Alexandria International Film Festival for Mediterranean Countries spotlighted the region’s cinema with contributions from 25 countries and over 120 films. This segment featured a scenario competition and celebrated various industry luminaries. The opening ceremony, held at the iconic Bibliotheca Alexandrina, was marked by the operetta “The Songs Are Still Possible,” adding a musical flourish to the cinematic celebration. These festivals not only offer a platform for filmmakers to showcase their work but also significantly enrich Alexandria’s cultural milieu.
