The site, known as Edfu Tell, was once called “Wetjeset-hor” in classical times, bearing the illustrious moniker of “Apollinopolis Magna.” It was here, in the heart of Edfu, that the gods themselves found their abode, and the timeless mythological clash between Horus and his age-old adversary, Seth, unfolded.
