Passport Requirements

• Age Requirement: All travelers aged 16 and older must hold a valid passport.
• Validity: Your passport must be valid for at least 6 months beyond your planned departure from Egypt.

Visa Regulations

• Tourist Visa: Required for most nationalities, with few exceptions.
• Cost: The standard 30-day tourist visa costs USD 25. Payment in Egyptian pounds is not accepted.
• Visa on Arrival: Available at major airports for most tourists arriving by air.
• Special Entry: Nationals of Germany, France, Belgium, and Portugal may enter with a national ID card, but a photo passport is required to obtain a visa on arrival.

Sinai Peninsula Entry

Travelers entering directly into Sharm El Sheikh or Nuweiba may choose:

• A free 14-day visa valid only for the Sinai coastal area.
• A 30-day visa arranged through travel agents for broader travel within Egypt.

Border Crossings and Ports

Tourist visas are not available at the following points:

• Land borders: Rafah, Taba, and Saloum.
• Sea ports: Alexandria, Port Said, and Safaga.

In such cases, travelers are advised to arrange their visa in advance or use a certified travel agent.

Egypt e-Visa System

• Type: Single or multiple-entry visa valid for 90 days, allowing a stay up to 30 days per visit.
• Application: Apply online via the official Egyptian e-Visa portal.
• Eligible Countries: Includes the US, UK, EU countries, Canada, Australia, Japan, South Korea, and many more.

For Non-eVisa Eligible Countries

• Citizens of countries not eligible for the e-Visa (e.g., India, China) must apply through the nearest Egyptian consulate or embassy.
• Travel agencies in Egypt may assist with visa processing when booked as part of a tour package.
