Taziry, meaning “full-moon” in the Siwan language, seamlessly blends with the surrounding environment through its vernacular architecture. The ecolodge is designed following the ancestral Siwan construction methods, making it an extension of the natural landscape. Rooms are illuminated by candles and oil lamps, creating a poetic and serene atmosphere. This commitment to tradition and sustainability offers guests a unique and authentic experience.
Accommodations
Taziry Ecolodge boasts 30 distinct accommodations, including large comfortable double rooms and family chalets. Each room is unique, featuring spacious bathrooms and private verandas. Some chalets are carved out of the mountain, while others are situated by a natural swimming pool fed by a fresh water fountain. All furniture is crafted in Taziry’s local workshops, showcasing authentic Berber designs and palm tree ceilings. The use of “Karshif” (mud bricks, salt, and natural elements) ensures a cool and comfortable environment without the need for air-conditioning, with windows and doors strategically placed to capture the desert breeze.
Cuisine
Dining at Taziry is an exceptional experience. The North African/Siwan cuisine, overseen by a Moroccan chef, is considered among the best in Egypt. The ecolodge prides itself on its organic, home-grown produce, including vegetables, fruits, oils, honey, jams, eggs, milk, meats, poultry, and fish. Whenever possible, Taziry engages in bartering with neighboring farmers to ensure a diverse menu. The drinking water, sourced from a local spring rich in minerals, is filtered and stored in pottery jars, offering guests a refreshing and healthful beverage.

The Great Sand Sea surrounding Siwa is a paradise for safari enthusiasts. Taziry collaborates with local 4×4 safari guides to organize thrilling desert excursions.
