Path To Follow To Beni Suef

Exploring Beni Suef, a city steeped in the rich tapestry of Egypt’s history, is made accessible by well-connected transportation routes. Whether you’re journeying from Cairo, Minya, or Al-Fayoum, or delving further into the heart of Egypt, Beni Suef offers both bus and train services to facilitate your travel.

1) By Bus

The central bus station, located along the bustling main road of Sharia Bur Said, is just south of the town center. It serves as a hub for travelers with buses departing as early as 6 am and continuing until 6 pm. These buses connect Beni Suef to major destinations such as Cairo, Minya, and Al-Fayoum. For those seeking a journey to Zafarana, a daily bus service is available (costing around E£35) with a journey time of three to four hours. This route conveniently includes a stop at the turn-off to the Monastery of St. Anthony, situated about 130km east of Beni Suef, from where it’s a further 12km to the monastery itself.

2) By Train

For a different pace, the train offers frequent connections both northward to Cairo and Giza (priced at E£19.36/31.20 for 2nd/1st class, with a journey time of 90 minutes to two hours), and southward to Minya (costing E£19.36/31.20 for a trip of approximately one hour and 25 minutes). The train journey offers a scenic and comfortable alternative, allowing travelers to relax and soak in the picturesque views of the Nile Valley as they move between destinations.

Whether by bus or train, traveling to and from Beni Suef is a seamless experience, integrating the city into the broader tapestry of Egypt’s extensive travel network. This accessibility makes Beni Suef an appealing destination for those looking to explore beyond the well-trodden paths of Egypt’s major cities.
