The new city of Abu Simble is located 280 kilometres to the South of Aswan, only 60 kilometres to the North of the Egyptian-Sudanese borders. At the present time, the complex of temples is situated on a plateau which is 150 meters above sea level on the West Bank of the Nasser Lake.
