About Mosque of al-Aqmar
With its magnificent stone facade, (Sharia al-Muizz li-Din Allah) is the oldest Petite Egyptian mosque, having been built in the 11th century by one of the last caliphs of Fatimid. There is also a stalactite-like decorative stone, called muqarnas vaulting, and a ribbing in the hooded arch, among other impressive features.
